first clay lesson in art today lol
and we had to learn how to work
on clay for 2 weeks lol.
we learnt how to knead, pinching and
pressing the clay .
we must always cover the clay with wet cloth
to maintain the moisture in the clay
we always use the tools to score
to join two clays and add slip (wet clay)
we always plan on doing the clay structure
and try out new designs and experiment with the clay.
i feel that clay work is actually tiring and messy,
but when u use effort to make the pot, u will
be proud of the outcome of the pot work :)
1st sep
things i have learnt again:
we begin by doing the clay base on the wheel,
mark the middle of the base then cut it out to
remove excess clay. after i done the touching up
with the sides and the top being balanced,
then we use coil to coil around the base
but we have to score the base and coil, add slip
to the scores then stick around it, continue by 3 more coils
with scores then we use a tool to join them to together by
thick scores then use your hand

More Portraits
today's art lesson drawing
self portraits of our friends
in class using black charcoals
in a short time about 8 mins.

it was hard for others
to draw as i observed others
how they draw in such a
short time, but for me,
it was quite rush but managed
to draw the whole body of
the person and in detail.

i guess short time means
more effort and quick
skills to visualise and
draw the person and its
not easy to do that ,
and its a good experience
for us to quick drawing so
we could be prepare our
future prepwork.
added dark and light contrast
on the shades of the clothings,
and lines on the folded clothing
i focus more on the overall body
rather spend more time detailing
the face so to save time for later.
overall, its a good lesson lol

then for the second lesson,
we tried to play with
white and black colours,
to feel and make different
shades of light and dark shades
of paint, that could be useful
for my artwork and self knowledge

i tried paint a face using
white and black colours,
to create different constrasts
and highlights on the face
contouring, not really good
with painting on portraits and
its on drawing paper so its hard
but i will improve on it slowly,
that painting looks like fauvism lol .
overall, a good expereince using paint
to draw realistic images of a person
face and try out different light and dark
colours and shades out of white and
black paint.

Portraits

First Lesson of Portrait drawing,
We have to try to draw the other person's face
with what we had learnt from the basics of
drawing the formation and base of a person
face, with lines, shapes and forms.

This is the outcome result of my self
portrait of my friend's face lol. but i think
i have to fix the drawing of his hair abit ahha,
but its a good first experience to draw someone
to see how it feels to draw realistic things
and challenge your drawing skills for olevels hah,

First realistic painting of a person's face.
I started with a basic face with his body traits
ans painted half of his face, By starting with
the base colour of a person face, then adding darker
base colour for contrast at the sides to make
the face look realistic.

Then we tried to painted fauvism for the
other half of the face, i tried to mix all
colours to make a colour combination
making the whole painting look unique
and different, for my opinion for fauvism
as everyope wants to try their own style
and painting to experiment and experience
painting, overall, its a good experience for me
to paint realistic and i have to improve my focus
on the strokes and adding light colours to it , making
it look not dull.
